SCM Engineer

This position is will be responsible for the software source control management (SCM) and build.

Key Responsibilites/Duties:

  • The SCM Engineer works with development teams to establish the file structure of the project Source Control libraries.
  • Ensures all project source materials are maintained in the Source Control library including software source code and project documentation.
  • Administers the Source Control tool providing maintenance and troubleshooting when necessary.
  • Helps coordinate the establishment of project environments.
  • Works with development teams and System Administrators to define and document project environment requirements, to set up project servers, and to deploy project and 3rd party software.
  • Documents, schedules, and executes project software builds. These task includes:
    • Compiling software with standard software development tools
    • Packaging builds using standard packaging software
    • Ensuring appropriate project documentation is available for each new build or release
    • Smoke testing builds for accuracy and completeness
  • Ensures that appropriate quality steps and approvals are adhered to prior to software promotions.
  • Works with developers to identify and resolve build or deployment problems.
  • Develops automation of software builds and deployments.

Education / Experience:

Bachelor of Science or Master's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or Mathematics -OR- equivalent work experience in software configuration management, software, or systems engineering.

Job Requirements:

Sr. Software Developer

This position is will be responsible for the design, development and maintenance of components of an application development framework using C++ and C#.

Key Responsibilites/Duties:

  • Software design, development and associated documentation
  • Development and maintenance of unit and integration tests
  • Other duties as assigned

Key Issues and Decisions:

  • Must balance the architectural and design requirements against the business plans and needs to make optimal design and implementation decisions.

Job Requirements:

  • Experience in all phases of software development including requirements analysis, design, code, test and integration in C++ and C#/.NET and have a good understanding of object oriented software development

Systems Engineer - Midwest Territory/Chicago

The SE has the primary responsibility for presales technical support within the region and technical expertise necessary to achieve and exceed territory quota. The SE is responsible for providing and presenting technical and business information for all Configuresoft's products to all buying influences in any organization such as technical engineers, buyers, CIO's, and department heads. The SE works cooperatively in a team effort with Account Managers and Inside Sales Representatives to identify key customers, strategic partners and resellers and assist in planning sales strategy with a focus on the technical and business win. A portion of their responsibilities will also include nurturing and selling additional products and services to existing customers and entering sales account information into the CRM database.

In order to build a successful team and territory, the SE will work closely with regional technical groups, industry analysts, and consultants to evangelize Configuresoft's solutions. These efforts will include trade shows, seminars, presentations to large groups, and the authoring of white papers attending regional sales meetings and provides account status and forecast information.

This is a field position with approximately 50% - 75% travel within the territory.

Qualifications / Experience:

  • Advanced technical knowledge of, but not limited to all UNIX, Windows OS platforms (Vista, XP, NT/2000 workstation, 2008, 2003,NT/2000 server). Large enterprise experience managing 5000+ users. 500+ administration preferred.
  • Microsoft Certified Product Systems Management Experience – MOM, NetIQ App Manager, BMC Patrol, Bindview Tools, Security Tools, and Network Monitoring.
  • Outstanding customer relationship and presentation skills including the ability to clearly communicate complex technical concepts visually and orally.
  • You must have an ongoing desire to stay current with software market and latest technologies.
  • Must be a self starter with the initiative to work from a remote office in the field.
  • 3+ years of selling enterprise management systems to Fortune accounts.
  • Strong knowledge of the Software Sales Cycle (e.g. Sandler High-Tech Selling System/Solution Selling).

Education:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in a business or computer-related field, or Post-Secondary Diploma or Post Secondary Certificate. Five (5) years experience in technical installation, administration and support of computer products and services or consulting role.

Physical Demands:

May sit or stand as needed; May require walking primarily on a level surface for periods throughout the day. Reaching above shoulder heights, below the waist or lifting as required to file documents or store materials. Proper lifting techniques required. May include lifting up to 50 pounds for files, computer printouts or luggage. Primary environment: ambient room temperatures, lighting and traditional office equipment as found in a typical office environment. Must be willing to travel up to 70% or three or four days a week.
