Achieving PCI in a Virtual Environment

PCI Virtualization Guidance from VMware, Configuresoft
and Leading Independent Industry Analyst

Minutes: 23:00
The latest 1.2 version of PCI DSS is now a few weeks behind us. Unfortunately, many Qualified Security Assessors (QSAs) are challenged with providing consistent guidance on PCI compliance in a virtualized environment mainly because the PCI Council has not provided any specific clarification or advice on this topic. This is having an effect on merchants storing card holder data/information on a virtual server. However, the lack of formal guidance should not hold up merchants from utilizing virtualization technology in conjunction with their PCI DSS compliance efforts.

This podcast features a panel of PCI and Virtualization experts including, Charu Chaubal of VMware, Dave Shackleford, Director of Center for Policy and Compliance for Configuresoft and co-author for the Center of Internet Security (CIS) VMware ESX Benchmark, and Dave Taylor, Research Director for the PCI Knowledge Base and former VP at Gartner. Download this podcast and listen to the challenges and opportunities of virtualization and how to properly implement virtualization to ensure security and compliance with the PCI DSS version 1.2 standard.
